The Perfect Kitchen for Entertaining
A remodel and high-end kitchen provides our clients with the perfect entertaining space.
Having updated their kitchen a few years previously by having new doors and work surface, our clients decided that this had been a stop-gap. The bright red doors now appeared dated. As their family grew, the need for a settee and table area in the same room as the kitchen had also become redundant.
After completing a fact find, it became evident that the clients spent a lot of time entertaining friends and family. They loved to cook too.
The ideal solution was an island but they couldn’t imagine how this would work. As with most people, they had lived with the same kitchen layout for years so couldn’t imagine it any other way.
Our suggestion was to remove all the units from the window wall and change the window to French doors. They have a vast garden and this would give two accesses to the garden from the same room. It would also give extra light.
Our clients chose a handle-less kitchen with a mixture of Anthracite and Oyster gloss, finished off with a matching Oyster Vanilla 20mm Quartz.
We focussed on two walls. Creating a tall bank of units floor to ceiling, offering lots of storage and housing two Neff slide and hide ovens, a combination oven microwave and a warming drawer. the sink was mounted under the sleek quartz surfaces and a CDA hot tap was installed. We decided on sleek contemporary wall units that offer a more contemporary look with concealed LED lighting
By using two walls, this enabled us to really WOW the room with a large island. Made up of deep drawer storage and rear base units and also housing the Neff induction hob, as well as the all-important wine cooler. The island was complemented by LED lighting under the quartz surfaces
As the clients wanted to keep seating within this room, we suggested an Oak bar area, inset into the quartz and running into the other part of the room. This would bring both areas together and offer seating for eight people. This area was finished with a solid oak full end piece and we installed our client’s own pendant lighting over. As the TV was to be wall mounted within this area, we installed floating units with under lighting to offer extra storage for games etc. A separate area was built to house the clients new American Fridge Freezer offering an alternative to it just been stood within a corner of the room.
The whole room was finished off by removing the internal kitchen door and a new floor installed by the clients to run throughout the hallway into the kitchen.
