PERFECT FOR ENTERTAINING

After completing a fact find, it became evident that the clients spent a lot of time entertaining friends and family. They loved to cook too. The ideal solution was an island but they couldn’t imagine how this would work. As with most people, they had lived with the same kitchen layout for years so couldn’t imagine it any other way.

A LARGER LUXURIOUS BEDROOM

Mrs Harper wanted a larger luxurious bedroom that offered views into her garden. Our brief was to take 2 existing bedrooms and create 1 larger space.

We removed the internal wall and blocked up one of the internal doors. We decided to remove one of the windows and change this to French doors with a Juliette balcony overlooking the garden.

In need of a refresh

The current kitchen was very small and dated with an old-style pantry taking up a large amount of space. Our fact find with the clients highlighted that ideally, the whole kitchen and dining room space would become one social space.

We wanted to achieve one room that offered a streamline kitchen, that offered both functionality, great looks, ambient and natural light and a room for the whole family to use.

OPEN PLAN LIVING

This Traditional extended Yorkshire stone cottage sat on one of the many hills above Huddersfield with far-ranging views towards Calderdale, Halifax and beyond is a rare beauty.

In some areas, the house required gutting back to the raw stone that some skilled mason laid some 200 years earlier. We were focussed on moving quickly as the family had gone away for the summer and time was of the essence to break the back of this project.

PRACTICALITY WAS KEY

Our clients wanted a home with all ‘mod-cons’ but wanted a cool space that wasn’t too traditional or flashy.

Creating a comfy home with a style that could cope with an expanding and busy family who wanted plenty of storage for this active family, practically was key.
